What Will You Learn in the Quran Reading Course?
A strong Quran reading foundation requires more than recognizing letters. This course builds the full set of skills needed to open any page of the Mushaf and read it accurately, confidently, and without relying on transliteration or memory.
1. Arabic Alphabet Recognition and Correct Letter Sounds
Students learn all twenty-eight Arabic letters in their four positional forms — isolated, initial, medial, and final — and train the ear and tongue to produce each sound correctly. Special attention is given to letters that do not exist in English, such as ع، ح، خ، ق، and غ, because errors at this stage silently carry forward into every verse a student reads.
2. Harakat — Reading With Vowel Marks
Understanding and applying the vowel marks — Fatha, Kasra, Damma, Sukoon, Shadda, and Tanween — is where most self-taught learners stall. UAE Quran Academy instructors drill these in isolation, then in combination, then in real Quranic words, so students build both accuracy and instinct rather than guesswork.
3. Letter Connection and Connected Arabic Script
Arabic’s connected script confuses readers accustomed to separated letters. This module dedicates focused sessions to how letters change shape by position and how words are formed by connection. Students practice reading connected words until script recognition becomes automatic — eliminating the hesitation that breaks reading flow mid-verse.
4. Foundational Tajweed Rules Within Reading Practice
UAE Quran Academy integrates essential Tajweed rules — Qalqalah, Ghunna, Madd, Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules — directly into reading lessons rather than treating them as a separate course. Students encounter and apply each rule in context as it appears in the Surahs they are reading. This prevents the common mistake of knowing Tajweed theory but failing to apply it during actual recitation.
