What Will You Learn in the Quran Reading with Tajweed Course?
Learning to read the Quran with Tajweed requires mastering four distinct skill layers. This course builds each one deliberately, ensuring no rule is introduced before the student can hear and produce it correctly.
1. Makharij — Correct Articulation of Every Arabic Letter
Every Arabic letter exits from a specific point in the mouth or throat. This module trains students to produce each of the 28 letters from its correct Makhraj (articulation point) — not approximated, not substituted with a similar English sound.
2. Foundational Tajweed Rules Applied to Quranic Text
Students learn the core rules that govern how letters interact: the four rulings of Noon Sakinah and Tanween (Izhar, Idgham, Iqlab, Ikhfa), the rules of Meem Sakinah, Qalqalah on the five letters ق ط ب ج د, and the properties of heavy (Mufakhkham) and light (Muraqqaq) letters.
3. Madd — Vowel Elongation and Its Precise Lengths
Madd rules govern how long each vowel is held, and the differences are not cosmetic. Cutting a Madd short changes the word; over-elongating where no Madd applies does the same. Students learn to distinguish the natural Madd (Madd Tabee’i, two counts) from the connected and separated Madd forms (Madd Muttasil, Madd Munfasil), and from the obligatory Madd Lazim (six counts) that appears at specific Quranic positions.
4. Connected Reading — Waqf, Ibtida, and Verse Flow
The final skill layer is reading continuously without breaking meaning incorrectly. Students learn the rules of Waqf (stopping) and Ibtida (resuming) that determine where a reciter may pause, where they must pause, and where stopping would distort the meaning of the verse.
