Tajweed Ijazah Course

The Tafseer for Kids Course at UAE Quran Academy helps your child understand what the Quran actually says — not just how to read or recite it. Tafseer is the explanation of the meaning of the Quran: the words, the stories, and the lessons behind the verses. This course gives that meaning to your child in language they can grasp and remember.

Built for young learners, the course turns verses your child may already recite into something they truly understand. Through age-appropriate explanations, Quranic stories, and gentle reflection, your child learns why a surah was revealed and what it teaches — guided one step at a time by a teacher who knows how to explain deep meaning to a young mind.

Whether your child is already memorizing the Quran or simply beginning to connect with it, Tafseer is the stage where recitation becomes understanding.

Tajweed Ijazah Course Overview

Most students who reach an advanced level of recitation hit the same wall: they read accurately, apply Tajweed rules reliably, but have no documented proof that their recitation was examined and authorized by a qualified scholar. An Ijazah in Tajweed closes that gap permanently.

The Tajweed Ijazah Course at UAE Quran Academy is structured in two inseparable phases: mastery and examination. In the first phase, students cover every dimension of Tajweed science — Makharij, Sifat, the rules of Noon and Meem Sakinah, Madd categories, Waqf and Ibtida — until application is fully automatic. In the second, they recite the complete Quran to a certified Sheikh who holds his own authenticated Ijazah chain.

This course can be taken as a standalone program for students who already carry solid Tajweed foundations, or as the final, advanced stage of a complete Quranic learning pathway at UAE Quran Academy — following the Quran Reading Course, the core Tajweed Course, and Hifz where applicable.

What Will You Learn in the Tajweed Ijazah Course?

The Tajweed Ijazah Course at UAE Quran Academy is structured around the complete science of Tajweed as codified by classical scholars, applied until it becomes automatic — not studied and forgotten.

1. Makharij Al-Huruf: Precise Articulation of Every Arabic Letter

Makharij are the exact anatomical exit points from which each Arabic letter is produced. There are seventeen primary exit points across five zones: the oral cavity, the tongue, the lips, the throat, and the nasal passage.

2. Sifat Al-Huruf: The Qualities That Differentiate Letters With the Same Makhraj

Sifat are the inherent characteristics of Arabic letters — qualities like Jahr (voice), Hams (breath), Shiddah (constriction), Rakhawah (flow), Isti’la (elevation of the tongue), and Istifal (lowering). Two letters can share an identical exit point yet sound entirely different because of their Sifat.

3. Rules of Noon and Meem Sakinah and Tanween

These rules govern how the letters Noon and Meem — when carrying Sukoon or Tanween — interact with the letter that follows them. The four rules for Noon Sakinah (Idhar, Idgham, Iqlab, Ikhfa) each carry specific application conditions determined by the following letter, and the Ghunnah (nasalization) required in Idgham with Ghunnah and Ikhfa must be held for precisely two counts.

4. Waqf and Ibtida: The Science of Stopping and Starting

Where a reciter stops and from where they resume is not stylistic preference — it is a governed science. Incorrect Waqf can alter meaning: stopping in the middle of a connected phrase can suggest a meaning no part of the verse intends.

Outcomes

What Are the Outcomes of the Tajweed Ijazah Course?

By the end of the Tajweed Ijazah Course at UAE Quran Academy, graduates carry both the technical mastery and the formal certification that most lifelong Quran learners never reach.

Certified Authorization to Recite and Teach

You hold a written Ijazah with your complete Sanad — a document recognized by Islamic institutions globally as proof that your recitation was examined and authorized by a scholar within an unbroken chain from the Prophet ﷺ.

Complete Tajweed Mastery Applied Automatically

Every rule — Makharij, Sifat, Madd, Noon and Meem Sakinah, Waqf — operates reflexively during recitation. You no longer apply rules consciously; they are internalized in the voice.

The Ability to Transmit the Chain

With Ijazah, you are authorized to teach Quran recitation and — when your own students complete examination under your supervision — to grant Ijazah yourself, continuing the chain into the next generation.

Precise Identification and Self-Correction of Errors

Graduates leave with the trained ear to identify Tajweed errors in their own recitation and in others — the same standard examiners applied during the course itself.

A Verified Connection to the Prophetic Transmission

Every ayah you recite after the Ijazah carries the weight of fourteen centuries of authenticated transmission. That awareness, as experienced scholars consistently note, changes how recitation feels.

Why Choose us?

Why Choose UAE Quran Academy for the Tajweed Ijazah Course?

The Ijazah in Tajweed is only as valid as the chain behind the examiner. The quality of instruction leading to it determines whether a student reaches examination ready or needs years of remediation. Both matters deserve careful consideration before choosing a program.

Ijazah-Certified Instructors With Authenticated Chains

Every instructor in the Tajweed Ijazah Course at UAE Quran Academy holds a personal Ijazah with a documented Sanad. They are not teaching from academic study of Tajweed science — they are transmitting from an authenticated chain they themselves received through formal examination. This is the non-negotiable prerequisite for valid Ijazah transmission.

One-on-One Sessions Throughout

Tajweed examination is an individual process. There is no meaningful group pathway to Ijazah — Makharij errors are person-specific, Madd timing varies between voices, and the examining Sheikh must hear each student recite every ayah individually. All sessions at UAE Quran Academy are fully one-on-one, from the preparatory Tajweed work through to the final examination recitation.

Structured Preparation Before Examination

Students are not sent into examination unprepared. The Tajweed Ijazah Course at UAE Quran Academy includes a structured preparatory phase during which instructors identify and correct every remaining Tajweed weakness before examination begins. The examination session is confirmation of readiness, not a test of whether preparation was sufficient.

Flexible Scheduling for Working Adults in the UAE

Classes are available across a range of times suited to UAE working hours, evening routines, and weekend availability. The program is designed for adults managing professional and family commitments — not for full-time students.

Female Instructors Available

UAE Quran Academy has Ijazah-certified female teachers available for sisters seeking full-chain authorization in a private, all-female learning environment.

A Defined Pathway, Not an Indefinite Process

Many students pursuing Ijazah elsewhere report spending years without a clear examination timeline. UAE Quran Academy provides a structured progression with defined milestones — preparatory Tajweed mastery, internal assessment, examination readiness, and certification — so students know exactly where they are and what remains.

Start Your Child's Journey With the Tafseer for Kids Course

A child who memorizes without understanding carries words. A child who learns Tafseer carries the message.

Tafseer is what turns the Quran from something your child recites into something your child knows — and lives by. The surahs they say in every prayer become conversations with Allah they can follow. The stories of the Prophets become lessons they return to when life is hard. The values the Quran teaches become part of how they see the world.

That understanding does not come from recitation alone. It comes from a teacher who knows the meaning, knows your child, and knows how to bring the two together — one surah at a time, at a pace your child can genuinely absorb.

Hamza Osama

Arabic alphabet

I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.

I took a class at Shaykhi Academy with Mr. Luqman, and I had a lot of fun learning with him. I even got the chance to meet him in Egypt! I learned a lot from my time with him, including Tajweed, Tahweed, Arabic reading, and Quran. I've been learning with him for about a year now. Thank you for your time.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Common questions about starting the Tajweed Ijazah Course.

A standard Tajweed course teaches the rules and trains correct application. The Tajweed Ijazah course does this and then takes students through formal examination in front of a certified Sheikh — resulting in a written Ijazah that authorizes the holder to recite and teach with an authenticated Sanad chain. The Ijazah is the examined, certified outcome; the Tajweed course is the preparation.

Full Hifz is not required for the standard Tajweed Ijazah. The examination requires reciting the complete Quran to the examining Sheikh — but this can be done by reading from the Mushaf with full Tajweed application, not necessarily from memory. Students pursuing Ijazah in Hifz specifically do require complete memorization.

Duration depends on the student's existing Tajweed level at enrollment. Students with a strong foundation in Tajweed rules may reach examination readiness more quickly; students beginning the preparatory phase from an intermediate level typically require longer structured preparation. UAE Quran Academy instructors assess each student individually and provide a realistic preparation timeline at the start of the program.

Contemporary Islamic scholarship widely recognizes live video recitation sessions as a valid medium for Ijazah transmission, provided the examining Sheikh holds an authenticated chain and the recitation is heard and corrected in real time. The validity rests on the scholar's chain and the live, interactive nature of the session — not the physical medium. UAE Quran Academy's certifying scholars hold verified Sanad chains and conduct examination in live one-on-one sessions.

Yes. UAE Quran Academy has Ijazah-certified female instructors available for sisters who wish to complete the full preparatory and examination process in a private, all-female environment.

Students who receive Ijazah in Tajweed are authorized to teach Quran recitation. Many go on to pursue Ijazah in Hifz — the separate certification for Quran memorization — or to deepen their knowledge through Qiraat study, exploring the ten authenticated recitation traditions beyond Hafs 'an 'Asim.
