Quran Tafseer is the science of explaining and interpreting the meanings of the Quran. The Quran Tafseer Course at UAE Quran Academy is designed to close that gap. Working with a qualified teacher, you move through the Quran systematically — verse by verse — drawing on the established works of classical exegesis (Tafsir) rather than personal opinion or surface-level translation.

What Will You Learn in the Quran Tafseer Course?

The Quran Tafseer Course teaches you the full set of skills needed to understand the Quran in its own language — from the core principles of interpretation to reading a verse in its proper context and connecting its meaning to the rest of the Quran.

1. The Foundations of Tafseer (Usul al-Tafsir)

You begin with the principles that govern sound interpretation: how scholars derive meaning, why the Quran is explained first by the Quran itself, then by the Sunnah, then by the understanding of the early generations. This grounding is what separates reliable Tafseer from guesswork, and it is where your teacher invests the most care from the start.

2. Asbab al-Nuzul — The Reasons for Revelation

Many verses were revealed in response to a specific event or question. You learn the documented occasions of revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul) for key verses, because knowing why a verse came down often changes how it is understood entirely — a detail that translations alone almost never convey.

3. Quranic Vocabulary and the Root System

Arabic words carry layers of meaning that a single English equivalent cannot hold. You study the Quranic vocabulary and the trilateral root system (جذر) behind key terms, so that words you have recited for years begin to open up with the depth the original intends.

4. Verse-by-Verse Interpretation in Context

You apply everything to the text itself — reading each verse within its surah, in light of the verses around it (siyaq), and against the explanations of recognised mufassirun. This is the heart of the course: moving from isolated words to a connected, contextual understanding of the message.
